At C2E2, TGT Webcomics interviewed Reading with Pictures founder Josh Elder about the organization and our current initiatives.
RWP Origins – TEDx PeachTree – Josh Elder
Josh Elder, founder of RWP, was speaking about comics in the classroom long before the organization became a non-profit. Below is one of the first speeches Josh gave about the foundations of what would become Reading with Pictures at the December 4, 2009 TEDx PeachTree event, titled: What if we brought comic books into the classroom, and it changed everything?
About TEDx, x=independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*
